What is Invisalign and How Does it Work?
Invisalign clear aligners are made of a transparent, plastic-like material. They come in a set, i.e. one for the upper jaw and one for the lower jaw, and are custom-made for each individual. Invisalign clear aligners apply small forces on teeth that are misaligned and gradually guide them into the desired position without the pain typically associated with metallic braces.

Advantages of Invisalign
Not all cases of crowding or crooked teeth are candidates for Invisalign. To determine your eligibility, your dentist at Kennedy Heights will do a comprehensive oral examination, which will include radiographs to assess the degree of crowding. The dentist will then make impressions of your teeth in the upper and lower jaw and have the aligners designed accordingly.
Invisalign aligners need to be changed every 10-14 days. The overall treatment will last for approximately 12 months, but varies depending on individual cases. Results become apparent within 2-3 months of starting the treatment.
Since the aligners are completely transparent, you will need to remove them every time you eat because food can stain them. Moreover, they should not be exposed to direct sunlight or strong chemicals which may distort them.
